Tankless Hot Water Heaters

 

At WaterSmart we install and service tankless water heaters. A tankless hot water heater will directly heat your water without the use of a storage tank. When you turn on your hot water tap, cold water flows through a pipe and into the hot water heater unit. Either a gas burner or an electric element heats the water. As a result, tankless water heaters deliver a constant supply of hot water.

 

Iron Filters

 

If you get your home water through from a private well, you may have iron in your water. Iron can have a strong smell and it can also stain toilets, tubs, sinks, etc. An iron filter can be installed to help remove the iron from your water. It is installed before a water softener which means that as your water enters your home, it will pass through the iron filter before it goes through your water softener and then to your taps. It can, therefore, filter most of the water in your home.

 

UV Lights

 

UV lights can be used in conjunction with an iron filter in order to further treat lower quality water. UV lights are not commonly used in the Kitchener-Waterloo area, however, if you think that you may need one, talk to our trained staff. They can advise you about your particular situation and whether or not UV lights are necessary for you.

 

Filters

Reverse Osmosis Filters

WaterSmart also sells and installs filters and the main membrane for Duro Reverse Osmosis Systems.  Reverse Osmosis filters should be changed once a year.

 

Fridge Filters

 

If you have a refrigerator with a water dispenser, you may find it difficult to find replacement filters. WaterSmart carries fridge filters for every make and model of refrigerator, unlike the big box stores which only carry the most common models. If you require a fridge filter that we don't carry, we will get it for you and add it to our current offerings. Dechlorinator

 

If you don't like the taste of chlorine in your water, WaterSmart offers a dechlorinator. We recommend installing a dechlorinator and a softener rather than the all in one system.  The initial costs are higher but the longevity of both systems is bolstered in this set up.
