How To Remove

How you remove the filter from your fridge will depend on the make and model of your fridge. The best place to determine how to remove the filter is to reference your user guide or manual that came with the unit at the time of purchase.

If you no longer have your manual, try searching online to find the manual or search YouTube for a video. There are many excellent videos on YouTube that cover in detail how to do this for specific models. Here is one such video:

Other Helpful Fridge Filter Tips

When it comes to fridge filters, there are a few key points you might want to know to ensure your filter works effectively and maintains the quality of your water:

1. Why Replace Fridge Filters?

Fridge filters remove contaminants from your drinking water and ice, improving taste and safety. Over time, the filter accumulates particles and impurities, which can reduce efficiency or even introduce bacteria if not replaced regularly.

2. How Often to Replace?

Most manufacturers recommend replacing your fridge filter every 6 months. However, it may vary depending on your water usage and quality. If you notice a drop in water flow, unusual taste, or cloudy ice, it’s likely time for a replacement.

3. Types of Filters

Fridge filters are typically carbon-based, designed to capture chlorine, lead, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), and other contaminants. Some models target specific substances, so it's important to check the specifications and choose the filter that best meets your water purification needs.

4. Certified Filters vs. Generic

While generic filters can be a cheaper alternative, it’s important to ensure they meet proper standards (look for certifications like NSF/ANSI). Certified filters guarantee the removal of specific contaminants, whereas generic models might not be as effective.
